Visit Some of The Most Historic Monuments Near Sanur Beach Bali

Sanur is a coastal stretch of beach protected by a long string of offshore reefs, creating large, warm shallow, safe lagoons that are perfectly clear and excellent for swimming, snorkeling and a whole array of water sports. Located on the east of Denpasar in southeast Bali this place has grown into a little town in its own right. Sanur stretches for about 5km along an east-facing coastline, with the lush and green landscaped grounds of resorts fronting right onto the sandy beach and beachfront hotels and oodles of tourist shops, restaurants, and cafes. There are also a number of temples and monuments near Sanur Beach Bali which adds to the favorite tourist attractions.

Surfers will be pleased to know that the reefs around Sanur produce some of the best waves in the world in the right conditions although they can be very shallow at low tide. But there are more consistent waves beyond the reefs good for surfing. Sanur is also the launching pad for visitors who want to dive and explore the splendors of the nearby island of Nusa Lembongan. Many areas around the island are good for diving and snorkeling, with abundant marine life and healthy corals. Surfing can get a bit crowded, but the waves are good. There are several white sand beaches away from the main centers which are virtually never crowded.

Sanur is known for being a quaint little seaside town in Bali that offers visitors a quieter slice of the island. Far away from hubs like Kuta or Seminyak, many families flock here for the serene atmosphere and the child-friendly beaches. Make sure you visit these monuments near Sanur Beach Balo which will add up to your wonderful experience of the place.

Two Weeks In Europe: Music Festival, Austrian Beer & Unforgettable Madness With Friends

“Jab chaar yaar mil jaye to, Euro trip ban jaye ..”

Something similar happened with Jyoti and her friends. They had always wanted to take an international trip together. So, when one day they were all hanging out together, they came up with an idea of exploring Europe. Unlike most groups of friends who are still waiting for that Goa trip to happen, Jyoti and her friends went along and spent exciting two weeks in Europe. It’s culture, amazing architecture and the night life.

Here is a detail of their experience of two weeks in Europe.

Trip Type: Group Holiday
Trip Duration: 14D, 13N
Number of people: 4 adults
Trip Cost: INR 121,000 per person
Trip Planner: Street Romeo Travel Planner

Day 1-3: Sightseeing in Prague
Day 4-5: Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour in Munich
Day 6-7: Sightseeing in Innsbruck
Day 8-9: Sightseeing in Salzburg
Day 10-11: Sightseeing in Budapest
Day 12-14: Sightseeing in Vienna

Prague -> Munich -> Innsbruck ->Salzburg -> Budapest-> Vienna

We took our Euro trip in June. Since it is summer season in Europe in June, Prague, Munic, and Vienna were extremely warm. The temperatures in Salzburg, Budapest, and Hallstatt were moderate. Innsbruck was extremely pleasant and simply superb.

If you are wondering where to go in 2 weeks in Europe and what all experiences to have, you may take help from our experience.

1. Prague

we arrived at Prague

day tour of Prague with friends

sitting with friends

exploring the prague

 visited landmarks in the city

We started our 2 week trip to Europe by exploring the clubs in Prague. The next day, we took a walking city tour to the famous attractions like Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, etc. We took a stroll around the river bridge and enjoyed having dinner by the riverfront. We also visited the Dancing house that is famous for its bizarre architecture while roaming around old town square. We, then, transferred to Munich by bus.

2. Munich

discover how vibrant life is

car showroom

exploring the city at your own pace

In Munich, we first visited the English Garden, a large public park in the city centre. The next stops were Marienplatz and Nymphenburg Palace that are known for their baroque architecture. We also enjoyed visiting Olympic Vark. It was so vast and beautiful. However, the highlight in Munich was hands down BMW World where we saw all the automobile models on display. It is located right next to the Olympic Park.

3. Salzburg

visited to Salzburg

overview of the city salzburg

night view of the best attractions of the city

enjoying the night

We visited a number of famous attractions in Salzburg like Mozart’s birthplace, beer factory, love lock bridge, Mirabell garden, and the fort of Hohensalzburg. We also took a Sound of Music tour which took us to all the places where the movie was shot. We also visited Hallstatt, a beautiful village in Austria that is only 50-minute train ride from Salzburg.

4. Innsbruck

visited to Swarovski Crystal World

We roamed around the old town

amazing views of the surrounding landscape

view of the highlights of the city

When in Innsbruck, we enjoyed visiting Swarovski Crystal World. We roamed around the old town and visited the Golden Roof. Hungerburg was also a delightful place to wander around.

5. Budapest

we are at Budapest

enjoy sightseeing in the beautiful city

enjoy the beauty of the city in the evening

 walking tour of the city

Budapest was amazing. There was so much to see and explore. We visited the Chain Bridge, Buda castle, Parliament building, and St. Stephen’s basilica. We wandered around the Hero’s Square and also visited the Opera House. We also enjoyed the River Cruise while our time in Budapest. The thermal baths were rejuvenating.

6. Vienna

a wonderful place to discover and explore

enjoy fantastic views

clicked best shots

city's dazzling night lights

Vienna was again a wonderful place to discover and explore. From St. Stephen’s Cathedral to Danube Tower and the giant Ferris Wheel, everything about this place was so beautiful and Instagram-worthy. We enjoyed having a bite of Sacher Cake in Vienna. It was so delicious, a Vienna delight. We event attended the lit music festival called Danube Island Festival. It was so dope.

We preferred staying at hostels and AirBnbs as these accommodations are way more cheaper and pleasant to stay in as compared to hotels.

meeting with new people

1. Prague: Plus Prague Hostel

The hostel was nice and clean with warm and friendly staff. Thanks to the accessibility from metro and cab, the location did not feel that far from the attractions. It even had an indoor swimming pool and sauna.

2. Munich: The 4You Hostel

The best thing about our stay in the 4You hostel was that the major attractions were just at a walking distance of less than 10mins. There were 8 bunk beds in the dormitory. The staff was nice and friendly. There was a common shower area separate for boys and girls.

3. Innsbruck: Upcycling Apartment In Old Farmhouse

We chose to stay at an excellent Airbnb apartment in Innsbruck. The 2BHK apartment came with all modern amenities and was located at a convenient location from the major attractions. The host was kind enough to stock enough portion of salt, pepper, sugar, powdered milk, porridge, vegetables and a complimentary bottle of wine.

4. Salzburg: Gasthof Postwirt

We had a pleasant stay at Gasthof Postwirt. We had booked two rooms with an attached shower area. All the major attractions were approx. 15 mins by cab.

5. Budapest: Under the Buda Castle Apartment

We had an excellent stay at an Airbnb in Budapest with all modern amenities. It was at a walkable distance from all the major attractions. The host had provided with all the necessities.

6. Vienna: A & T Holiday Hostel

The location of the hostel was a bit far off the main attractions but it took us 15 minutes from cab to reach the city centre. The hostel had free wi-fi and recreational facilities like billiards and table football.

Here are all the restaurants that we visited on our holiday in various places.

delicious food with beer

a piece of sweet cake

1. Prague

We dined at the Cross Club where the whole architecture was made with metal and recycled materials. It had self-service and the food was delicious. There was a dancing area on the ground floor. Chicken Pizza cost around INR 500 bucks and beer was INR 120 bucks. The other restaurant was near Rasinovo Nabrezi Riverbank and it had outdoor seating. The ambiance was lovely and the food was delicious. A portion of Caesar’s Salad cost us around INR 370 bucks.

2. Munich

We enjoyed the freshly brewed at Augustiner Keller. It had huge open space and was crowded at all times. The staff was friendly but the service was a bit slow. A beer here would cost you arun 8 Euros. La Fiesta had a lovely ambiance and friendly staff. We enjoyed the music as much as we enjoyed food.

3. Salzburg

We visited M32, a rooftop restaurant located on the hilltop. The main reason we liked this place was the skyline it offered. The food was okay and the staff was friendly.

4. Vienna

We went to a famous dessert place in Vienna called Trichy. The decor was quirky and colorful, the staff friendly. We paid 2 Euros for 2 scoops of ice cream.

In Budapest, we enjoyed nightlife at Ankert Club and also attended Danube Island Festival.

Here are some important trips that I would like to suggest to the fellow travelers to have a hassle-free trip.

  • Pick a comfortable month to travel to Europe.
  • Avoid walking tour of Prague in summer.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes.
  • It is advisable to explore Europe on foot rather than on public transport.
  • Prefer bus or trains for intercity travel. It will not only be easy on your pocket but you would also enjoy the views along.
  • If you’re booking a cab from the airport to your hotel, pick and load your own luggage as the cab driver would charge 5 to 10 euros to load your bag.
  • Board the cab as soon as it arrives. The cabbie will charge you for even a minute’s delay.
  • It is advisable to carry local currency in Prague and Budapest. A lot of places here do not accept Euros.
  • Avoid panoramic/hop on hop off bus tour in Salzburg as everything is nearby and can be covered walking. You may even rent a bike. It costs approx. 10 euros for an hour.
  • Carry your snacks and plenty of water during summers.
  • Food can be purchased from DM stores, Billa or Spar.
  • Do visit the Swarovski museum and Hungerburg in Innsbruck
  • Take a travel pass which is valid across trains, metro and trams. Travel passes are valid for 30 mins and 90 mins.
  • Avoid buying survivors from the main attraction area or shopping centers- they would be costly. Buy from small street shops. Chocolates, Perfumes and cosmetics are cheaper than India and can be purchased by DM stores.

We had booked Turkish Airlines from Mumbai to Prague. We had a layover at Istanbul airport for 90 mins. The usual wait time is 50 mins but since our flight was delayed, we waited for 90 mins to board our flight from Istanbul to Prague. Here are the timings of our flight

Mumbai to Istanbul – 6:30 am Departure.
Arrive Istanbul at 10:45 am
Istanbul to Prague – 12:45 pm- 13:45 pm.

Overall experience with travel triangle was simply super. 10 on 10. Street Romeo and Mr Jigar took all possible care regarding our budge, customized the package as per our liking and were available throughout on call when required. The budget worked out for the trip was decent and we are content. Though AC rooms could have been arranged as it was difficult to sleep being summers in Europe. I personally think that Hop on Hop off bus passes could also have a validity of 48 hours including a lunch at the Danube River Cruise (Budapest) with additional costing.

People were very warm and helpful except in Prague. Prague locals were very rude and refuse to help navigate. But in other cities, they were extremely helpful. All in all, our two weeks in Europe were amazing. Any trip with friends turns out to be fun but when it is Europe, the fun and experience take up a notch. All that hype they show in the movies about the Euro Trip with friends is every cent true.

For several centuries, Bali artists and craftsmen in Bali worked under the priests and ruling classes, decorating palaces and temples. As their designs followed the religious guidelines, the Bali artists generally did not have much room for personal expression – by painters and illustrators called ‘Sangging’. The ‘Sangging’ were expected to decorate everything from gourds, wooden altars, bamboo vessels, headboards for princely bedchambers.

During the first part of the twentieth century, new varieties of Balinese art developed. So, we decided to take a trip to a place which was more beautiful and less explored (at
least by our friends). The main reason behind this thought was that we got married in late
January and it was winter all over in Europe (which has been on our list since DDLJ). So, we started looking for island destinations suitable for a visit during the second week of February.

We shortlisted few locations like Maldives, Mauritius, Bali, and Seychelles. We wanted a package deal that was both – under our budget of 3 lacs as well as with an itinerary that touched all the ‘must-visit’ places in that country. That was when Rashmi came across TravelTriangle. They offered us exactly what we wanted so we went ahead and booked a package for 8 nights and 9 days.

Day 1: Arrival At Mahe & Transfer To Praslin Island

Anse Lazio

On the first day, after reaching Mahe Island (the capital city of Seychelles), we took a ferry to Praslin Island, which is the second biggest island in Seychelles. We checked into our beautiful hotel, Castello Beach Resort on Anse Kerlan and kick-started our Seychelles honeymoon tour. The location was simply stunning and lay very close to the domestic airport in Praslin. In order to access the beach, all one needed to do was go down a few steps.

Castello Beach hotel

We hired a car after some rest and straightaway drove away to Anse Lazio (one of the top 5 beautiful beaches in the world). It was not too far from our hotel. We must say the beach is really beautiful with white sand and blue waters surrounded by green mountains. After spending a beautiful evening here, we drove back to our hotel on absolutely dark roads.

Day 2 | Praslin Island: Exploring The Unexplored

Rashmi and I, we both fancy situations where we don’t know much about the place because it gives us an opportunity to explore new places. It somehow excites us and lets us enjoy the real essence of the place. My wife is an excellent navigator and reads maps quite well. So, we took a paper map, some snacks, beach towel, some cash, and just left for the day not knowing where exactly to go.

By the end of the second day of our Seychelles honeymoon tour, we felt as if the day couldn’t have been spent better. By sundown, we had practically driven across the complete circumference of the island. In the process, we visited some beautiful locations, including Fond Ferdinand, Valle Demer, Grand Anse, etc. The roads are good for driving through the island and makes you feel as if you are driving through a dense jungle on a proper road.

Grand Anse La digue

We ended our stay with an exotic breakfast at the hotel and left on a Jetty for our stay at La Digue island.

Day 3 | La Digue Island: Cycling & Dining At A Hilltop

If given a chance to spend life in Seychelles, we would choose La Digue.

La digue

It is a paradise for those who love peace, natural beauty, blue waters, and cycling. We were pleasantly surprised to experience that ‘the bicycle is the only mode of transport on this island’ (except for a handful of commercial/government vehicles). We made a wise decision of spending a night at this island. We had our stay at Bamboo Chalet, a beautiful Bamboo themed resort, which is a mere walking distance from the port that turned a happening place at night.

Snacl Bellevue_1

Our agent’s representative had booked us a dinner date at a hill-top restaurant called Snack Bellevue, and at around 5 PM we were being taken to it in a pickup truck through steep roads and sharp curves. Once at the top, we turned our heads to look around and gasped! It was breathtaking! Something that pictures cannot do justice to. One has to see it to experience it.

Later, we were served an exclusive vegetarian dinner which included delicious fresh fruit juices, the main course, all at INR 2,200/-. But, every penny spent there was worth it.

At night, we got to see the typical hippie culture at the port with groups of people dancing, laughing, playing music with speakers on the bicycles and in the cafe. It was a great experience for both of us.

Day 4 | La Digue: Hiking, Snorkeling, & Seeing Giant Tortoises

Giant Tortoise

We woke up as early as 6 AM. We took our bicycles and a map and headed for Grand Anse. It was an amazing ride to the beach which was completely empty and utterly peaceful. The only sound we heard was the wind and the water. We hiked across the small, yet beautiful rocky jungle to the sister island Petite Anse. After a mesmerizing hike, we headed back to the hotel for breakfast.

Anse Source Dargent

Later, in the afternoon, we again took our bicycles and headed to Anse Source D’Argent, one of the most beautiful beaches we discovered on our 8 nights Seychelles honeymoon tour. It is the most photographed beach in the world with naturally carved rocks and blue water. We also saw vanilla plantations there and so many Giant Tortoises.

Jack sparrow

After that, we went for snorkeling with our very cool captain Jack Sparrow (as we used to address him there) across the nearby islands. It was a totally wonderful experience. After returning to the hotel, we packed and left for our stay at Mahe Island.

Day 5 | Mahe Island: A Rejuvenating Spa, A Honeymoon Cake, & Gorgeous Views

We stayed at the Coral Strand Smart Choice Hotel at the famous Beau Vallon Beach. It was a luxury hotel with very nice service and a fantastic breakfast. The hotel is right on the beach, by far the best beach in Mahe Island. It has quite a long coastline with clean water and no seaweeds. The best part – adjacent to the beach is ‘Mehak’, a classic Indian restaurant which serves delicious Indian food.

Roads through jungle

When we reached there, we were greeted with a welcome drink, a beautiful cake, some
fruits and a bottle of wine, all on a complimentary basis. On top of that, we were given the privilege to take a Savoy spa break, that too on a complimentary basis, which made our Seychelles honeymoon tour all the more wonderful! We spent our day chilling and enjoying the lavish facilities of the hotel.

Day 6 | Mahe Island: Exploring Beaches & Attending Beach Parties

Coco Demer

We rented a car and as usual, took a map with us before going out to explore Mahe. As expected, we had lots of fun during the exploration and we happened to visit a beach party which was hosted by a family who was celebrating their daughter’s birthday.

coconut water

We also visited many beautiful beaches like Anse Royale, Grand Anse, Anse Takamaka (which was the most enjoyable and unique, Port Launay Beach, and enjoyed some really tasty coconut water while exploring the beaches. It was a day full of adventure with our adrenaline rush through the roof during whenever we were en route to the next beach. At night, we had delectable north Indian food at Mehak.

Day 7 | Mahe Island: City Tour And Live Band Performances

After an amazing breakfast, we were taken for a half day city tour of Mahe. We got to visit a south Indian temple, a tea factory, an old-school, few tourist spots, and a shopping market during the day. It was a day well spent and our driver, Terrence, was a really nice and friendly person. We chit-chatted about a lot of things, about the country, the people, the culture, and even his family. He was very comfortable to talk to and we all enjoyed the time we drove around with him on our Seychelles honeymoon tour.

There was no end to the number of complementary services we were given. When we returned to the hotel after our city tour, the hotel delighted us with a complimentary, yet delicious lunch. In the evening, we enjoyed the Savoy spa break and relaxed. During dinner at night, we enjoyed a nice live band performance where we were treated to some soft rock music to make the night enjoyable.

Day 8 | Mahe: Valentine’s Day With Candle Light Dinner On Saint Anne Beach

After breakfast, we left for Saint Anne, an island owned by the BeachComber hotel group. It is a 5-star hotel with some exotic villas. We checked into our luxurious villa that had a grand private pool and a garden. We were greeted with a welcome drink and were then taken to a wardrobe section so that we may pick a dress for ourselves as a Valentine Surprise from TravelTriangle and the hotel.

We enjoyed the hotel’s luxe facilities and the beautiful swimming pool which provided mesmerizing views of the sea. In the afternoon, we were taken for snorkeling and fish feeding, which was again complementary. After that, we spent some time in the private pool while gorging on some snacks.

At night, we were invited for a beautiful, romantic candle-light dinner set up by the beachside especially for us. It was really amazing to see how everyone had prepared the set up so well and wanted us to end our Seychelles honeymoon tour on such a romantic note. We talked and dined under the light of the flickering candles and the blanket of stars while some performers played some soft music on a saxophone nearby.

The efforts of TravelTriangle and the hotel had made to make this occasion special was totally commendable. Later, the manager came to us and spent around 30 minutes talking to us and we shared our experience of staying at this lovely resort. Later, they dropped us to back to our villa with some chocolates and we retired for the night once we were done packing.

Day 9 | Bidding Farewell To Seychelles

way to Petite Anse

After a lovely breakfast, we completed our check-out formalities and took a ferry to Mahe. From there, we were transferred to the airport and we boarded our flight back to India (via Dubai) with sweet memories of our romantic trip to Seychelles.

To summarize, we’d say it was one unbelievable experience. We wished we could stay there for few more days and we really hope we’d get to see those picture-perfect landscapes again someday. TravelTriangle made our trip all the more memorable and we have already booked a trip to Dubai and Mauritius with them.

Our WOW Moments: Almost every moment on the trip was WOW for us, be it the beaches, cycling around the islands, the numerous complimentary services at the hotels and resorts, right down to our experience with TT.
