His Super Adventurous Trip To Andaman With Kids Will Give You Awesome Tips To Plan Yours

The best kind of surprise you can give to your kids is an exciting vacation to the kind of place they love. So, Kartik booked himself and his family a fabulous holiday in the Andaman islands that turned out to be their best ever family vacation. See how he turned his simple 5 days trip to Andaman with kids into a thrilling and memorable getaway.

I stay away from my family and they were visiting me during my kids’ summer vacation. I had no time to plan a vacation for them. Then I heard from my friend that he had gone to Andaman and I thought it would be a good idea to go there since my kids love beaches. Also, it is not very far from Vijayawada where I stay.

While searching online for an ideal package within my budget, I came across TravelTriangle and liked what they offered. So, I decided to book my trip through them. Thankfully, I did not find any reason to regret my decision.

Day 3: Scuba diving at Havelock | Water sports at Elephant Island
Day 4: Scuba diving at Neil Island
Day 5: Museums tour | Departure

The weather was hot and sultry, but it was comfortable enough for me and my family to step out and explore. Ideally, the average minimum temperature during this time is around 24 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature can sometimes reach to 37 degrees Celsius. The monsoon showers usually start in late May but there was no rainfall while we were there.

These are some of the best places we explored on our trip that made us understand why it’s a great idea to spend your summer vacation in Andaman.

1. Havelock Island

Me with my family

Family Photo at Havelock Island

Havelock Island

This island is a true delight for beach lovers and my kids loved their time here. After an enjoyable cruise to this island, we checked into our Havelock Haywizz Resort, one of the best resorts in Andaman for kids. We visited the Radhanagar Beach which is unlike any we have ever seen. It is absolutely clean and utterly gorgeous. My children had a lot of fun there.

We even saw various jellyfish that had washed ashore and witnessing them was a real treat while visiting Andaman with kids. The next morning, My son and I went for scuba diving and it turned out to be one of the best experiences we have had in life! It’s truly one of the best water sports in Havelock Island. Engaging in water sports in Elephant Island is surely among the best things to do in Andaman with kids.

2. Elephant Island

Water Sports

We were looking forward to our visit to the Elephant Island that is famed for its water sports, and it totally lived up to our expectations. Other than the water sports, we also enjoyed the exciting cruise ride on my Andaman trip with kids. My wife and kids were thrilled with the various activities they tried, including the glass bottom boat ride, banana boat ride, as well as parasailing.

3. Neil island

Sea Behind Me

This is another beautiful island to visit in Andaman with kids that is famous for its stunning beaches, water sports, and the natural arch on the beach that makes for some great backdrops for pictures. Again, the first thing we enjoyed about this island is the cruise ride that brought us here.

After reaching this place, my wife and I went for scuba diving, and that made us realise why travelers always insist on trying the many water sports in Neil Island. My wife was ecstatic after her adventurous feat in the sea, as was I!

Then I spent some time with my family sunbathing and talking on the shore. The peaceful moments I spent with my kids on those golden shores were some of the best memories I have of my trip to Andaman in 5 days with kids.

4. Port Blair

Port Blair

Nature Closeup

This is the capital city of Andaman Islands and is popular for various attractions like the Cellular Jail. We were totally fascinated by the history of the Cellular Jail that talked about how it was once a British penal colony and then became a key player in the freedom movement. This jail now serves as a memorial to Indian independence activists and gives a brief account of their history during the Light and Sound Show at night.

Other than exploring the Cellular Jail in Andaman, we also visited various museums like the Samudrika Naval Marine Museum. We bought plenty of corals and pearls at a shop in Port Blair.

We stayed at Hotel North Reef in Port Blair, Haywizz Havelock Island Resort in Havelock, and the Holiday Inn Beach Resort in Neil Island during our trip to Andaman. These are some of the best places to stay at if you’re traveling with kids to Andaman. The staff was super friendly and the services were quick in all of these hotels and resorts, especially at Haywizz. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. My kids loved playing in the swimming pool of the Haywizz Resort.

We loved the food at the restaurants in Port Blair and Havelock Island. In fact, we found plenty of restaurants in Havelock Island serving an amazing variety of both vegetarian as well as non vegetarian food, though we don’t remember the names of any of these restaurants. Also, we figured why Andaman happens to be a paradise for seafood lovers! One can easily look up the names on Google and they’ll surely come across plenty of options serving the food of their choice in Andaman at economical rates.

Though Andaman is a great place for shopping, we did not really buy a lot of things here. One should, however, definitely buy coral and pearls since they are popular. We purchased original and good quality pearls, shells, and corals from an authentic store in Port Blair.

Don’t forget to pack the following items for your tropical getaway to Andaman.

  • Sunglasses
  • Hats
  • Light cotton clothing, shorts, light coloured shirts, and sundresses
  • Swimwear
  • Comfortable open footwear like slippers
  • Sunscreen
  • Mosquito repellent
  • Umbrellas or raincoats

We have some advice for family with kids traveling to Andaman. Please make sure you adhere to these for a smooth and comfortable holiday experience here.

  • Do NOT litter, especially on the beaches. Andaman is absolutely beautiful and clean. Please leave it the way it is.
  • Don’t clutter your itinerary. Leave time for rest and leisure activities.
  • Always opt for a guided tour of Andaman with kids so that you are able to visit all the top tourist attractions at economical rates.
  • You’ll find handicrafts like pearls and corals at a fixed price in all the certified stores across Andaman, especially Port Blair. Do not bargain.
  • If you’re looking for kid-friendly resorts and hotels in Havelock Island, you should consider staying at the Haywizz Havelock Island Resort.
  • Don’t worry about finding good pure vegetarian food in Andaman. There are plenty of restaurants in Andaman serving delicious vegetarian delicacies.
  • The weather will be hot and humid. Keep yourself hydrated at all times and carry your own water bottle instead of buying bottled water in plastic containers at the locations you visit.
  • Don’t forget to apply generous amounts of sunscreen before stepping out.

It was very good. They are very quick with their turnaround time. I made several changes to my itinerary till I was satisfied, and they accommodated my requests in all possible manners. It was an overall good experience and I will recommend others to use the services of TravelTriangle for their future trips.

Eager to take your own trip to Andaman with kids? Well, don’t wait. Connect with the experienced agents at TravelTriangle to cook you up an awesome family trip to Andaman within your budget. And don’t forget to write to us about your fabulous experience once you’re back!

We had plenty of doubts while planning our family trip to Andaman. Now that we’re back, we would like to answer them to help others book their trip comfortably.
